YOAKAM SET TO PERFORM ON THE VIEW AND THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN SEPTEMBER 26th AND 28TH

Dwight Yoakam’s 26th studio album – 3 Pears – was released this week to stunning reviews:

•“Yoakam’s first release in seven years is a smashing return ... Pears mingles honky-tonk, rock, pop (the Bee Gee’s “To Love Somebody”!), and even two cuts co-produced by Beck with great, adventurous warmth.” - Entertainment Weekly

•“[3 Pears] has got hard shuffles, trebly guitars, steel-guitar solos, strong chorus hooks. It locates some measure of cool within old obsessions…but doesn’t want to be contained. The voices are loud, the guitars are louder.” - New York Times

•“3 Pears [is Yoakam’s] strong new collection, one of his finest overall.” - Washington Post

•“Yoakam remains one of the most consistently interesting country music visionaries of his time.” - Associated Press

•“The progressive traditionalist is at it again on the typically stylish 3 Pears” - Philadelphia Inquirer

•4 out of 5 stars - American Songwriter

•Named One of “10 To Watch” - Billboard Magazine

•4 out of 4 stars - Country Weekly

    •5 out of 5 stars - Roughstock

The Grammy-Award winner will also celebrate the release with performances on The View and The Late Show with David Letterman next week on September 26th and 28th, respectively. Yoakam also recently performed a few songs, including the album’s title track, “3 Pears” on The Warner Sounds’ Live Room, which debuted on YouTube’s Music Home page Monday before release.

3 Pears, containing 12 tracks, is produced by the artist himself, along with two songs co-produced with Beck: “A Heart Like Mine” and “Missing Heart.” A special Target exclusive version of the CD also includes 2 bonus songs, covers of The Bee Gee’s “To Love Somebody” and Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” The album perfectly encapsulates the legendary singer-songwriter’s ability to blur genres creating a timeless piece of art. Staying true to his trademark edge while incorporating a growing positivity in his songwriting, Yoakam moves effortlessly between country, rock, Americana, pop and soul (full track listing below).
